Wairuatanga (spiritual care)
Our spiritual carer supports the Taha Wairua (spiritual) needs of clients and their whānau.
Spiritual care recognises and responds to the needs of the human spirit when faced with trauma, illness, sadness, loss and death. It offers you a way of exploring, reflecting and expressing vulnerability, sadness, regrets and losses. Equally, it enables you to explore loves, joys, hopes, friendships and what’s important to you.
Regardless of belief system, we can assist you and your whānau to support your holistic wellbeing. Our spiritual care is tailored to your needs and we will respect your culture, values and beliefs, choices, experiences and diversity.
We’ll meet with you and talk about the services we offer, and how we can best meet your needs.
Hospice Wairarapa services are available free of charge to all those with life limiting illness in Wairarapa, including whānau and carers. Our services are provided in a safe, compassionate and supportive environment.
